About CreditPilot
A consumer credit education and comparison resource for readers in the United States.
CreditPilot is a consumer credit education and comparison resource. We help readers understand credit cards, compare financial products, build credit knowledge and make more informed decisions.
Our tagline is Smarter Credit. Better Choices. We take the second half seriously: the choice is always yours, and our job is to make it clearer.
The problem we want to solve
Credit cards are simple to get and complicated to understand. The information that matters most, such as how interest builds or what a fee really costs, tends to sit in fine print. Meanwhile, much of what people find online is written to get them to apply for something. We think readers deserve explanations that come first, with the math shown.
Who we write for
We write primarily for readers in the United States, using US terms, laws and dollars. That includes people choosing a first card, comparing rewards, working to understand APR, rebuilding credit or running a small business. You do not need any financial background to read our guides.
What we publish
- Educational guides on credit cards, interest, fees, rewards and credit building.
- Conceptual comparisons that explain how different options work side by side.
- Free calculators that run in your browser. What you enter is not sent to us.
- Product reviews, in time. We have not published any yet. We will publish them only when we have verified the data, under our methodology.
How we work
We rely on primary sources such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Reserve and issuer documents. We list sources on our articles, show dates for figures that change and correct mistakes. AI tools may assist our work under the rules in our Editorial Policy, which describes the process in full.
CreditPilot is a publisher. We are not a bank, lender, card issuer or financial adviser. We do not take applications, make credit decisions or give personal financial advice.
How the site is funded
This site does not currently display advertising. It also does not have affiliate agreements with card issuers at this time.
We may add advertising or affiliate relationships as the site grows. If we do, we will update this page and our disclosures first.
Who runs CreditPilot
CreditPilot is operated by Jorge Dominguez. Articles are published under the CreditPilot Editorial byline unless a named author is shown. We list a person’s credentials only when they are real and they have provided them.
