Credit Utilization Calculator
Find the share of your available credit you are using, for one card or across all your cards.
Your estimate
- Utilization Percentage
Estimate for education only, not a quote or an offer from any lender. Your issuer's terms and calculations determine what you actually pay. Numbers you enter stay in your browser; they are not sent to or stored by CreditPilot.
How this calculator works
It divides your balance by your credit limit and multiplies by 100. For your overall ratio, add up the balances on all your cards, add up all the limits, and enter the two totals.
Worked example
A $1,500 balance on a $5,000 limit is 30%. Paying the balance down to $500 brings it to 10%.
How to read the result
The CFPB says many experts recommend using less than 30% of your total credit limit, and that consumers with the highest scores often use less than 10%. These are guidelines rather than exact cutoffs, and utilization is only one part of your credit profile. This tool cannot tell you what your score is or how it would change.
